Historical Sites

Absolute Granite is proud to have been offered the rare opportunity to volunteer our time and skills toward the restoration of the Spanish military encampment at Santa Barbara California, known as the Presidio. This important historical site housed General Ortega and his soldiers during the 1800's. Located in beautiful downtown Santa Barbara, it was carefully reconstructed on its original footings by volunteer stone masons in 1982. The materials were created in the same ways as the original masons of the time; bricks were formed of red clay and straw and then baked in ovens.
